Dr. Sharanappa Jangandi belongs to Haranagera Village of Shahapur taluk of Yadagiri District. He comes from a poor family and he finished his primary education in Haranagere village and high school education in Shahapur taluk. He completed PUC from Gulbarga Government Science College. He completed his B.Sc graduation in Agriculture from UAS, Bangalore and did M.Sc in Agriculture Engineering. He joined for service in Agriculture Research Station during 1991 as Research Assistant (RA) during his scientific currier he has developed farm implements which are useful to small and marginal farmers. The cycle weeders and groundnut decorticators developed by Dr. Sharanappa Jangandi are very popular in groundnut growing areas of Karnataka. UAS, Bangalore awarded the best Research Scientist award during 2007-08

And Institute of Agriculture Technologist, Chitradurga is given Best Agriculture Engineer Award-2013.
